Based in Melbourne, Australia, World's End Press were formed around 2010 by longtime friends John Parkinson (vocals and guitar) and Rhys Richards (keyboards and electronics). With the addition of drummer Tom Gould and bassist Sashi Dharann, the band drew on a wide mix of influences including Krautrock, disco, punk and dub to create its style. After releasing some early EPs and becoming a regular at late night club shows and parties in Melbourne, the band signed with the Liberation Music label, and worked with producer Tim Goldsworthy (Massive Attack, the Rapture, Cut Copy) at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales to record their self-titled debut, which arrived in 2013. The band toured heavily, playing festivals and big tours, sharing the stage with acts like Hot Chip, !!!, Primal Scream, and supporting fellow Melbourne band Cut Copy on a U.S. tour. The band were active until 2016.
