Mentored by Rico Wade and Future, Atlanta MC Yakki kicked his career into high gear with his 2015 single "D.R.A.K.E.," which stands for "Do Right And Kill Everything." Sometimes called Yakki Divioshi, he debuted his booming voice in high school, joining groups with Johnny Cinco and introducing himself to others around the Atlanta scene thanks to his parents, who relocated often. He also played football, and was a linebacker for the various schools where he landed, but then an injury put his dreams of college ball on hold, so the focus returned to rap. After he dropped a mixtape and joined Young Thug on the 2014 cuts "Yah Yah" and "I Want It," Yakki released the solo cut "D.R.A.K.E." in 2015 along with the single "Flex God." In early 2016 he dropped both the single "Better Without Ya" and the mixtape The Life of YakkStick. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
