Fusing tight-knit syncopated grooves with textured synths and effortless vocals, Brighton quartet Yakul’s own unique brand of forward-thinking ‘Future Soul’ has cultivated a dedicated following since the band’s beginnings in 2017. Comprising members James Berkeley (vocals/keys), Tom Caldwell-Nichols (bass), Sam Hughes (drums) and Leo Utton (guitar), the four-piece’s distinctive musical chemistry and dedication to their craft has resulted in a natural evolution; gradually distilling a myriad of influences and skilled musicianship into a sound entirely of their own.
Hotly tipped by the likes of Complex, Clash and Red Bull, in recent years the band have amassed millions of streams while gathering hard-earned support on the live circuit thanks to triumphant festival performances at Glastonbury and Love Supreme, and tours throughout the UK and Europe including multiple sold-out performances at legendary London venues Ronnie Scott’s and Jazz Cafe.
