YAMNA

British born, multilingual singer-songwriter YAMNA takes pride in her mixed descent (Moroccan father, Irish-South Asian mother) growing up in the suburbs of London. Now based in SPAIN, she describes her style of music as a mixing pot of her early-childhood influences; North African & Arabic (predominantly Moroccan) genres of music, R&B/Soul, Dancehall, as well as being heavily inspired by the likes of Shakira, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Etta James and Mariah Carey. Her musical tastes grew into the Latin, Afro and Tropical sounds, ultimately bringing her to Spain to continue forging her own unique sound.


She is currently working with MAD BASS (Madrid based Producer/DJ duo) who’ve produced hits for: SKINNY FLEX (Manualidades), KIDD KEO (Mami Bills), ELILLUMINARI, EL BOBE (Aventador).


With a strong passion for poetry & literature at a young age, her lyrical dexterity has stemmed from a love of expressing herself via poetry & storytelling throughout her songs, embedding rhyme and deep emotional complexity into her lyrics. She describes her writing style as raw, daring and meaningful, at times touching on more taboo subjects, a playful lyricist with light meanings to her music.


Her versatility for creating a wide variety of sounds no matter the genre, coupled with her natural ability of infusing Spanish & English lyrics alongside her irresistible melodies, sweet yet immensely powerful, soulful voice, is her original recipe for truly being in a league of her own.
