Yawners is the project of Madrid-based guitarist and songwriter Elena Nieto. She released her debut album ‘Just Calm Down’ in 2019, where she explored the pop side of the energetic 90s sound, a vibe that instantly brings you back to classic bands like Weezer, Pavement and The Breeders and connects to contemporary bands like Tigers Jaw, Snail Mail or The Beths. Yawners has gathered great international press attention with features and reviews in NPR, DIY Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, Flood Magazine & Remezcla among many others. In March 2020 Japanese label Inpartmaint Inc. released the album in Japan. Yawners has toured all over since her debut album release including a hectic SXSW and Eurosonic, and has just gotten signed by Big Scary Monsters (UK), Counter Intuitive (USA), Inpartmaint Inc. (Japan) and Montgrí (Spain), who will release her upcoming album in Spring 2022.
