Yearning Kru

Yearning Kru is a mysterious electronic musician, visual artist, and performer from Croydon, England who constructs dissonant, unpredictable, sample-driven pieces inspired by fantasy and sci-fi. His music is every bit as cryptic and collage-like as his art, resisting linear narratives in favor of sparse yet detailed alien soundscapes that occasionally flare up into abrasive, granulated noise. Yearning Kru first began releasing music online in 2010, starting with the digital EP Diyadh. Three years later, Cracked Lacquer/Vanadium (edited from 12 hours of improvisational recordings) appeared on <a href="spotify:artist:1ld2Kfp4s2LHg94Lby403n">patten</a>'s Kaleidoscope label, followed by an accompanying remix EP. Yearning Kru then became affiliated with <a href="spotify:artist:6PLQTmcFlESg8oZOEK3tsu">Brood Ma</a>'s Quantum Natives multimedia collective, releasing Forways and remix collection Fifth Ascents through the group in 2014. Following additional online releases as well as remixes for <a href="spotify:artist:6PLQTmcFlESg8oZOEK3tsu">Brood Ma</a> and Joane Skyler, Yearning Kru's vinyl debut, Copper Vale, was co-released by <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Planet+Mu%22">Planet Mu</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1SYQUJukd40ps4z6RT77rC">Kuedo</a>'s <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Knives%22">Knives</a> imprint in 2016. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
