Israeli-born Yoav Polachek is a jazz pianist and a multidisciplinary musician who has performed on stages worldwide from Tel Aviv to Hanoi, including renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, NY Mets Stadium, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Born and raised in Tel Aviv where he began his piano and music studies, Yoav received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Berklee College of Music and his Masters in Music at New York University. Over the years, he has studied with some of his favorite pianists such as @Kenny Werner and @Fred Hersch and legendary educator @Charlie Banacos.
Throughout his music career, Yoav has passionately worn numerous musical hats, from bandleader of his jazz trios, to musical director in leading musical productions, composer, arranger and producer for film and television at his own music production studio, sideman to leading Israeli artists such as @Miki Gavrielov, and high school music department director.
Yoav spent 12 years in New York, where he recorded his first album Standards First in 1999, with fellow musicians @Chris Litecab and Daniel Freedman. He has collaborated on several Jewish and Israeli music albums and productions with close colleague Mattan Klein.
In 2020, Yoav released his second album Standards 2nd, featuring @Tal Ronen, @Adar Polachek, and @Mattan Klein.
