Yohani is the most globally recognised recording artist Sri Lanka has ever produced.A singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist reshaping South Asian pop, she is the first Sri Lankan artist to cross into the global mainstream and the only one to do so without a major label campaign behind her. Her breakthrough single "Manike Mage Hithe" became the first Sinhala song ever to reach a global audience, climbing to #1 across India and drawing millions of creators worldwide. Her catalog has since gathered over 16 billion cumulative views, and continues to grow.She has released two studio albums. "Kella" (2023) became the first Sri Lankan record ever submitted for Grammy Awards consideration. "Aadarei" (2025) marks her turn toward quieter, more deliberate songwriting, the work of an artist no longer chasing momentum but defining her own.Her Indian cinema work spans Thank God, An Action Hero, Shiddat, and Dhamaka, alongside collaborations with Tanishk Bagchi, Amit Trivedi, Jubin Nautiyal, Tony Kakkar, and Harris Jayaraj. Internationally, she has recorded with Sean Paul and Kes on the official ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 anthem, Edward Maya on "Diamonds," and Moroccan rapper 7liwa on "Kolla Nhar." In 2025, she became the first artist signed to PopIndia, the Reservoir Media and PopArabia joint venture.She holds Kala Keerthi Abhimani, Sri Lanka's highest national arts honour.
