Something of a Houston rap all-star team, Young Problemz creates starkly dank hip-hop profiles imbedded deep within its hometown's signature bass-heavy, slow-brewed, syrup-drenched style. Starstruck, J-Yung, Chyco, JM, and Just-O, standouts in various local crews, combined their talents in 2007 to build a musical monster. Despite the many chefs and their requisite egos, YP's MCs swiftly discovered a knack for trading their rhymes off one another, their flows smoothly merging into one. In 2008, "Boi," with its sinister hook and many remixes, became a local hit and began to get national play, turning the heads at Asylum Records.
