Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Manolo Rose is an MC and rap producer known for his scathing, insolent lyrics and fast, fiery beats. Growing up, the young creative developed an eclectic taste in music, listening to the work of artists such as Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G., and Kiss through to John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, and various punk acts, eventually inspiring him enough to begin penning his own lyrics and pursue a career in music. He first began to establish a presence on the scene when he gave the beat for his track "Dope Man" to fellow New York rapper Troy Ave, resulting in Ave's "All About the Money," before following up with his own track, "Run Ricky Run." The latter cut showcased Rose's songwriting abilities and resonated with hip-hop fans in the New York area, due to its abrasive and defiant sound. The track appeared on his debut mixtape, Concrete Rose, which saw release in 2015 and also included the singles "Gun Fu" and "Super Flexin" as well as featuring a host of collaborators such as Stoney tha Dealer, Dave East, and Keith Ape, and production work from Fame School Slim. He spent 2016 getting to work on his next full-length release, and returned in 2017 with the singles "Ball Drop" and "Pink Fur." ~ Rob Wacey
