Yusef Afloat, legendary Los Angeles MC/producer/musician better known as one half (along with Nouka Basstype aka Sach) of the Westcoast duo The Nonce, produced tracks for Aceyalone, Supherb, and Figures Of Speech. He also appeared on the original 1994 release of Project Blowed. After the success of The Nonce's debut and re-issues of earlier works by The Nonce, he released a handful of his own self produced 4-track recordings (incl. "Foreign Objects" and "Hard Times"). Yusef Afloat also contributed verses on various affiliated camp's recordings, such as Global Phlowtations Artist Committee, Jizzm High Definition, and several tracks by Sach. On May 21, 2000, Yusef "Afloat" Muhammad was found dying on the side of Freeway 110 in Los Angeles, he was 28 years old. The cause of his death is still unknown.
