Those who call themselves ZA! are those who call themselves ZA!
Their music combines uncommon beats, polyrhythms, noise, live electronics, thick distortions, silly walks, vocal loops, free jåzzzz, math games, dadaism, drones and a percentage of the result left to complete on stage, every night.
Za! have played more than 900 shows around USA, UK, Japan, Canada, Australia, Mozambique, Swaziland, Brazil, Russia, Portugal, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Finland, Slowakia, Poland, France, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Denmark, Austria, Italy and Spain.
Those who call themselves Za! love sharing stage with other musicians and creating new music altogether. They are founders of the improvisation collective El Caballo Ganador and they have created and participated in various dance & theater pieces. The duet also teaches conducted improvisation workshops for musicians of any level or age. Their workshops, often finishing with a collective show, have taken place in many cities of the world: Barcelona, Berlin, Melbourne, Maputo, Porto, Taalintedas, Tenerife, Rabo de Peixe, etc.
Za! love the Do It Yourself spirit, but they love the Do It Together spirit even more: they self-release their records and they book their own shows through their own label Gandula, in association with many small independent labels and booking agencies around the globe.
