Growing up in Rouyn-Noranda, Zach Zoya developed a diverse musical palette from his family.
Introduced to African music by his South African father and North American soul and pop music
by his French-Canadian mother, Zoya was immersed in rhythms and melodies from a young age.
Zach was soon discovered by French rap powerhouse label 7ième Ciel, becoming the first
English-speaking artist signed to the illustrious label. He then began collaborating with some of
the country’s biggest producers for his debut EP, Spectrum. This landed Zach on coveted ones-
to-watch and best-of lists and earned him several award nominations including the 2021 Berlin
Music Video Awards and the 2021 ADISQ Award for International Collaboration of the Year with
UK artist/ producer Angel for his single “Patience”. With last year’s release of his EP No Love Is
Ever Wasted, Zach Zoya’s success has quickly heightened, accumulating millions of streams and
landing two consecutive Top 40 radio hits with his singles “Start Over” feat. Benny Adam and
“Upper Hand” feat. Soran. Over the last year, Zach has won awards at the Dynastie Gala and The
SOCAN Foundation and has now headlined two sold-out shows in both Toronto and Montreal.
