Zheng Jianxing

我是郑同学，原名郑建兴，从小喜欢唱歌，玩音乐。30年前当完兵后就出国深造读工程学。步入社会后不久就创业。直到将近50岁了又从新接触音乐，拿起吉他又再写歌。在一次偶然的机会，参加了歌唱比赛认识了一群喜欢唱歌的朋友，也写了歌曲给朋友们唱。2020年底发行首发单曲《年过半百》, 2021年再发单曲《变》。2022准备发EP，会在9月30号先发原创单曲《我唱学友的歌》，来致敬我的偶像张学友。接下来十一月会再发原创单曲。明年会接着发EP。




I am Zheng Jianxing from Singapore. Since young, I love singing and playing music. I am exposed to pop, choral and classical singing including arias and operas. 30 years ago, after serving my national service in the Navy, I went to the United States to study engineering. And shortly after graduation, I returned to Singapore to develop my career and went on to start my own company. For a period of 20 odd years, I left my music passion behind. It was only when I was near 50, I realised that I missed music so much. I took out my guitar, started jamming and composing again. I went on to take part in Singing and songwriting competition and got to know a group of passionate musicians and music lovers. It ignited my love for music further. Within a span of 1 year, I wrote more than 10 songs and published them. My first single “After 50” was published in Dec 2020. The song is about my personal music story, how I returned to my love for music after almost 30 years. In 2021, my second single “Change” was released. On 30 September 2022, I will be releasing my third single “I sing the songs by Jacky”, to pay tribute to my idol Jacky Cheung. In Nov 2022, I will be releasing another single and in 2023 an EP.
