It all started with the music. Zil is an extraordinary producer, writer and performer. The California-born artist first began his musical career as a DJ in the nightlife of Los Angeles, working in numerous clubs across the city. The first thing that comes to mind when listening to Zil's music is the refreshing candor of the beat along with a very distinct vocal presence. The bass-heavy compilations mixed with dexterous melodies and blended with a half-rap, half-sung vocal style complete the spell. Very few performers can write and produce their own songs, and even fewer can flip the script and write and produce songs for other artists in multiple genres of music.
