Zohra only released one record carrying her real name Zohra Aissaoui. She was born 1950 in Algeria in the village of Tag- hit. Her family moved to France in 1958 and she grew up in Marseille and Said Dizier. In her youth she started to sing and play guitar. In the early 1970s she enrolled at Paul-Beusher Conservatory in Paris to study music. After graduating she pro- ceeded to both teaching music at the University of Nanterre as well as pursuing an active career as a musician, participating in various competitions. One of them secured her a recording
