Whether you believe in fate or not, sometimes it feels like things happen for a reason. That’s how Randy Bradbury—the bassist for punk legends Pennywise—felt when he one day found himself compelled to write some songs. Not for the band, just for himself. Bradbury shared them with longtime Pennywise collaborator/producer Cameron Webb (Motörhead, Social Distortion, Alkaline Trio) for nothing more than an outside, objective opinion. An acclaimed Grammy-winning producer, Webb loved them and immediately told Bradbury the songs should be turned into a record and that he’d help him make it. The pair then reached out to their friend Adrian Young, best known for being No Doubt’s drummer, who was more than happy to join them in the studio to sit behind the kit for the making of the album. The result is a melodic yet energetic punk-inspired rock ‘n’ roll album that inspires carpe diem-fueled hope and defiance and serves as a necessary escape from—and antidote to—a world that’s going up in flames. And while Bradbury and Webb—now joined by Erik "Smelly" Sandin of NOFX fame on drums—aren’t exactly sure what the future holds for the band, their debut record is full of so much heart and soul you get the sense that this is just the beginning of something truly big.
