Originating from Tualatin, Oregon, New Society delivers melodic-pop punk at its finest. Their roots trace back to 1993, when the founding members, Austin Cain (guitar) and Rob Jenson (bass) shared a love and passion for punk rock music. They quickly added Ryan Hamilton on the drums, Jesse Tate on second guitar and their vocalist, Jason Mason to form the energetic quintet. The band released two full-length albums between 2000 (Trials and Tribulations) and 2001 (The Bonnie Situation), which helped them get their feet off the ground and begin touring and share the stage with many large nationally acclaimed acts.

In late 2001, New Society moved to southern California to immerse themselves in a larger punk scene, with more opportunities to play for a broader audience. Shortly after their move, they recorded Half-Truths & Hand Grenades; a five song EP which was released on New School Records in 2019 - Yes, almost two decades after it was recorded. The songs that make up Half-Truths & Hand Grenades were written during the band’s move and were largely inspired by the excitement, uncertainty and the soon-to-be lifelong memories. Since their previous full-length release, the band has further developed as musicians and bring you a melodic, pop-punk masterpiece that will leave you singing along in no time.

So, what does the future hold for New Society? The band is planning another studio visit soon (in 2019), so keep checking back for new releases.
