A Modest Promise was a post-hardcore band from Media/Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States.
Hailing from the seemingly forgotten city of Media, Pennsylvania, a city often overshadowed by the big lights of Philadelphia, A Modest Promise subtly exploded onto a once burned out scene in 2002, amongst pre-metalheads, and post-hardcore alumni.
A Modest Promise is the end result of a band being born into a world of nu metal redundancy and radio tainted nonsense. In 2003 they earned a steadily growing following in the indie scene, and within 7 months gave the scene a much needed punch in the eye.
Melodic and agonizing, always paying homage to their elders, they are all inspired by bands like Thrice, This Day Forward and Thursday. Their live performances are in one word jaw-dropping. Their energy is unmatchable and their hunger for success is insatiable.
