Using wit and candor as mortar and pestle to grind the ego into finer granules of inner truth —
Aistis is a Lithuanian-Canadian singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist living in
Montreal.
Disrupting the usual love songs with his eccentric and feverish attention to others, he explores
his sunken expressions by creating his own folklore. Inspired by story tellers like David Berman,
Leonard Cohen, and Andy Shauf, his lyrically centered art-folk is verbose and sincerely his own.
He performs an exaggerated imitation of himself, freeing his hypersensitivities through poetic
repetition and detailed sonic arrangements. Everyday objects become manic symbols, as he
traverses his imagined existential meadow, always pointing fingers to the big cosmic jokes.
His 2024 LP release “Clay” garnered attention and regular rotation on SIRIUS XM, and
DOMINIONATED named it one of the “50 best albums” of 2024.. A confessional album exploring
love, hypocrisy and self-reflection, what CLASH deemed “an alt-folk odyssey blending fact and
fiction, flavoured with sensory delights."
While ATWOOD Magazine pronounced it “a product of an anxious heart and restless soul that
captures the artist in the heat of the moment” FAME asserts Aistis has cemented his “distinctive
voice in the alternative folk scene.”
