At a time when something so amazing as the genre of R&B seems to be taking a backseat to its neighboring genres, R&B sensation Akevius plans to revive it by refusing to conform to the trends, and by authentically carving out his own lane in music. Akevius, an R&B singer-songwriter, hailing from Charlotte, NC, is ready to take the music industry and R&B genre by storm. Akevius was born in Chester, SC however his family soon after relocated to Winnsboro, SC, and again to Lincolnton, NC before finally settling in the Queen City, Charlotte, NC. At age six, Akevius found his passion for music as he was captivated by the late night tunes on the radio, thus leading him to fall in love with R&B music. Akevius discovered his meaningful and heartfelt sound at a very young age when a mentor Xan, better known as Da Natural, picked him up everyday and drove him to Cuz Cuz Ent Studios to record. Soon after, the opportunity to collaborate with producer Figz and rapper III came about, and the rest was history. It would be a meeting with music executive Kadife Sylvester, that would ultimately change the face of his career. Sylvester ran powerful campaigns in Charlotte, North Carolina for Akevius’ music helping him to effectively generate a nice buzz and garner support from his city and beyond. The success of the campaign allowed the R&B crooner to make a name for himself, eventually leading to him collaborating with super producer Polow Da Don. Polow Da Don was instantly captivated by Akevius
