AKRAS is a DJ project by the Finnish producer and songwriter Olli Äkräs, dedicated to both fresh covers and original electronic music. Venturing between house, synthwave, future rave and EDM, AKRAS combines modern hard-hitting beats with the coolest retro elements.
The sound can be traced back to his childhood, when he grew up with the music of Jean-Michel Jarre, Pink Floyd, MTV and video games. The foundation of the AKRAS was already there in the techno-demos he composed as a 10-year-old using Music 2000 on the original PlayStation. "I found the old demos on a memory card and began to sample sounds from them. That nostalgia became the core of my whole aesthetic - even influencing the PlayStation-inspired visuals I design myself", says AKRAS.
As a songwriter and a producer Olli has a catalogue of over 100 songs, released by artists in 6 countries, including multiple gold & platinum records and TV jingles.
