Al Doum & The Faryds is a musical ensemble born in Milan in 2010, bringing together musicians from diverse backgrounds—punk, jazz, rock and free improvisation. Their music blends afro and modal jazz, psychedelic rock and tribal grooves, using ethnic instruments to create unexpected timbres and a collective, trance-like sound. The result is a sonic journey that expands perception, where rhythm, voices and horns operate as a single organism.
The full line-up now counts ten members, an orchestra of drums, percussion, horns, voices, guitar and bass. The group has always embraced self-organization: albums are recorded at Guscio Studio in Milan, run by guitarist Lorenzo Farolfi, where the band experiments with analog techniques and a communal approach to production.
Records are printed and distributed by Black Sweat Records, the independent label founded by bassist and singer Davide Domenichini, while several releases are co-published with La Tempesta. The visual side is crafted in-house as well, from videos to the immersive light-shows that accompany their concerts.
After a path that moved from ethnic psychedelia to jazz-rock explorations, the band is now working on a new album coming in 2026, opening yet another chapter in their constantly evolving sound.
