Al Tariq was originally known as Kool Ass Fashion (Fashion for short) when he got involved with the legendary <a href="spotify:artist:5ynvmGwc83ZoRx2EIWHXLX">Beatnuts</a> crew with <a href="spotify:artist:73vr1C7hAgKGfFEWLfgTCh">Psycho Les</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1lVi8dVhx7rkcnOEBzzYz8">JuJu</a>. He was part of their Intoxicated Demons EP, released in 1993. He decided to change his name to Al Tariq after converting to Islam, and went on a solo mission.
