German pianist Alexander Krichel has established himself as one of the most promising and thoughtful amongst today’s pianists. An ECHO Klassik award winner, Alexander has released a number of critically acclaimed recordings, including Rachmaninov 2 with the <a href="spotify:artist:03C9IJtseK0NX9zw53URjF" data-name="Dresdner Philharmonie">Dresdner Philharmonie</a> (Michael Sanderling) and “Miroirs”, an album of works by Maurice Ravel. October 2021 features his new release “Enescu &amp; Mussorgsky”. 

Alexander has made debuts with orchestras such as Bamberg Symphony (Jonathan Nott), HR-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt (Antonio Méndez), as well as Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and Kyoto Symphony OrchestrA. Further afield, he has worked with the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra, the Lucerne Festival Strings, the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra and the Polish Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. 

A busy recitalist, recent appareances include New York, México City, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai and Cape Town.

Born in Hamburg in 1989, Alexander became a pre student with the legendary <a href="spotify:artist:63w9iyKaWT7BDt1sfrnlcp" data-name="Vladimir Krainev">Vladimir Krainev</a> at Hanover University of Music and Drama at the age of 17. He has also studied with Dmitri Alexeev at Royal College of Music in London, completing his studies with distinction.

Away from the piano, Alexander promotes projects that encourage children’s approach towards classical music and is very involved in hospice charity work.
