Alisha Thomas is an Indian-American singer/songwriter & playback singer, originally from Washington D.C., and curently based in Chennai, India. She has been trained in Carnatic music since childhood, as well as in Hindustani and Western Classical in her later years.
As a teenager, she toured the U.S. with the likes of Dr. K.J. Yesudas and his son, Vijay Yesudas. And after relocating to Chennai, she made her playback debut with composer/co-singer Anirudh Ravichander for the Tamil film ‘Maari.’ Alisha has also been fortunate to perform live with A.R. Rahman and continues to work under him on various projects, including his upcoming virtual reality film ‘Le Musk.’
Alisha was shortlisted for the 2017 Oscars for the “Best Original Song” Award for a song she wrote and sang for the film Lake of Fire called ‘We Party All Night.’
