With a sound rooted in the scruffy jangle of '90s indie rock and a firmly confessional lyrical stance, the Columbus, Ohio quartet formed in 2012. Vocalist/guitarist Maryn Jones and bassist Amanda Bartley had previously played in a short-lived group named Wolfs, and when they split the duo decided to keep making music together. With the addition of drummer Jesse Withers, who also played in the melodic punk band Delays, they became a trio and began playing shows. Their first release was a split cassette with fellow Ohio band Slouch that came out in July of 2013. Even with Jones joining up with the indie folk group Saintseneca and performing solo under the name Yowler, All Dogs quickly put out their first single later that year on the Detroit label Salinas. The next year was a little slower on the recording front, with only the "Georgia" single seeing the light of day in December. However, they did add a new bandmember, NONA guitarist Nick Harris, and spent time honing their sound and working on new songs. In early 2015 they went into Wherever Audio in Philadelphia with producer Kyle Gilbride of Swearin' to record their first album. Kicking Every Day was released by Salinas in August of 2015. ~ Tim Sendra, Rovi
