Hailing from Portland, Oregon, four-piece pop-punk outfit Blowout were formed by friends and fellow housemates Laken Wright (vocals, bass), Travis King (guitar), Brennan Facchino (guitar), and Nick Everett (drums). Playing their first show in February 2014, the group quickly delivered its first EP, We All Float Down Here, just a couple of months later. Earning praise for its spiky, sun-drenched pop-punk that fit somewhere between P.S. Eliot, the Get Up Kids, and Hop Along, the release saw the group's fan base grow. The band continued with its frenzied touring schedule for the rest of the year, and after playing shows with the likes of Winter Break and LVL UP, headed into the studio in mid-2015 to start recording its debut album, planned as a joint release by Lauren Records and Making New Enemies. Blowout's debut EP was reissued in early 2016 on cassette by the Lauren imprint, with their debut album, No Beer, No Dad, arriving just a few months later in August of that year. At the beginning of 2017 the group announced they had decided to call it a day, signing off with a handful of gigs, including a support slot for Surfer Blood. ~ Rich Wilson, Rovi
