Originally started in 2008 as the studio project of singer and guitarist Petie Pizarro, Amely have since been on the fast track to stardom. While recording the first Amely EP, On My Own, by himself in 2008, Pizarro recruited drummer Nate Parsell to add some more complicated drum parts to his songs. From there, the collaboration grew to include bassist Patrick Ridgen and guitarist Brandon Walden. The Orlando, FL quartet began to develop a highly polished, emotive sound reminiscent of All-American Rejects and Anberlin, and soon afterwards signed a deal with Fearless. The band went into the studio with Paramore producer Mike Green, and in 2010 released its second EP, Hello World. ~ Gregory Heaney, Rovi
