André began his career as a professional musician at the age of seventeen in São Paulo and soon developed a love for jazz and good Brazilian music. He went to Germany to study jazz and electric bass at the renowned Musikhochschule in Cologne and then acoustic bass at the Folkwang Universität in Essen and graduated from both with top marks. He has performed in thousands of gigs and concerts and on over a hundred recordings. André has also worked as a composer, arranger and producer and has songs released on various compilations worldwide such as Breaking Bossa, Brazilectro 4 and Brazilectro 5, Musica do Brasil 5, etc. and was in the German World Music Charts for weeks with his production Bicho do Mato with Eli Goulart and Banda do Mato.
