Indonesian-born singer/songwriter/producer Astrid Suryanto had already earned respect and spins from DJs Victor Calderone and John Digweed by the age of 22. With software she had downloaded for free off the Internet and a microphone she bought from a pawnshop, Suryanto holed up in her Houston, TX, home and started work on creating her own music. Her songs "You Give Me (Love)" and "All I Know" were soon being spun by any DJ she sent them to, while John Digweed licensed "All I Know" for his own Bedrock label. In 2004 Suryanto began a relationship with the Strata label, which issued her singles Rainwater and More and More. A Victor Calderone remix of "Rainwater" put Suryanto in the company of Dannii Minogue and Crystal Waters when it was included on Webster Hall's New York Dance CD, Vol. 6. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
