Born in Montreal, growing up across Northern Canada in Nunavik, Nanavut, and the Northwest Territories, Atamone is an Inuk multidisciplinary Audio/Visual artist, producer, multi-instrumentalist, live performing artist, DJ, 3D artist, video game programmer, animator, graphic designer, photographer, and videographer. Creating independently in the arts and entertainment scene as Atamone since 2011.
A prolific artist and creative pioneer in driving current and past audio/visual technologies to their limits for live performance music and multi-media. Innovating artistic possibilities and discovering creative solutions from various angles and degrees. With an artistic background in underground culture—hip-hop, graffiti, street art, dance, and DJ culture—and an academic background in sound design, film & vfx, animation, graphic design, and 3D video game design & programming. Holding degrees in Sound Design for Television & Visual Media, Visual Communication for Interactive Media, 3D Video Game Design & Programming, and 3D Animation & Visual FX for Cinema. Embracing a hybrid approach that merges analog and digital universes for creative expression.
Using computing technologies, hardware samplers, and drum machines to process, manipulate, and sequence live instruments, analog sounds, and visuals, Atamone simmers warmhearted rhythms and graceful melodies inspired by jazz, soul, hip-hop, and electronica. Providing future beats, cinematic gems, and timeless sounds.
