A*Teens, consisting of Marie Serneholt, Sara Lumholdt, Dhani Lennevald, and Amit Paul, quickly conquered international success. The group not only reached the top of the charts in Sweden but also became global stars with multiple gold and platinum certifications worldwide.
Beginning work on their debut album “The ABBA Generation” in 1998, two years later the group topped the European charts with their cover of "Mamma Mia," achieving the feat exactly a quarter of a century after the original ABBA hit number one with their own rendition of the song. "The ABBA Generation" has sold over 2 million copies globally and was certified Gold or Platinum in over 22 countries.
After tours with like-minded acts such as *N Sync and Britney Spears and an appearance on Nickolodeon's All That tour in summer 2000, the group delivered their follow-up album, Teen Spirit, which featured original material. In spring 2002, they covered the Elvis Presley classic "Can't Help Falling in Love," later performing the single on Nickelodeon's popular Slime Time Live in late May. The song was also included on A*Teens' third album, Pop 'Til You Drop.
After a 20-year absence from the stage, A*Teens reunited during 2024 for an outstanding performance on the biggest Swedish TV-show Melodifestivalen (Sweden’s national selection for Eurovision Song Contest) to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. The performance was a spectacular medley of both the group's own hits and some of Abba's most beloved songs.
