Athul Prabhu is a Bengaluru-based Singer Songwriter. His song “Khaali Si Rooh” was featured in the top 75 Indian indie songs of 2021 by Spotify. It is also a part of Spotify’s Indie India playlist and has been garnering rave reviews from listeners, reviewers, and music aficionados alike. The Score Magazine called him “quite the singing/songwriting talent to watch out for”.
Born in Kochi, into a family that listened to a wide range of music ranging from Carnatic Classical to Bollywood to Classic Rock and Contemporary Pop, Athul got trained in Carnatic classical singing at a young age and picked up the guitar and started writing songs as a teenager. His experiments with recording & production led him to produce music for digital entertainment platforms such as The Viral Fever (TVF) and also for brands & filmmakers through jingles & background scores. Since donning the hat of a singer/songwriter 3 years ago, he has adopted the style of composing soothing melodies with meaningful & reflective lyrics, combined with uncomplicated yet invigorating production.
