The Basel based producer Audio Dope started his musical journey by making old fashioned beats inspired by the late 90s US hiphop vibes until he fell in love with the instrumental music scene and quickly established his own recipe combining organic samples and vocal fragments with crispy synths and tight drums.
His creations between hiphop, downtempo and trip-hop followed to supports for international acts such as <a href="spotify:artist:6qgnBH6iDM91ipVXv28OMu" data-name="KAYTRANADA">KAYTRANADA</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7zrkALJ9ayRjzysp4QYoEg" data-name="Maribou State">Maribou State</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5dVua2HdrY1VlbPh6OM9KZ" data-name="The Gaslamp Killer">The Gaslamp Killer</a> or <a href="spotify:artist:21mKp7DqtSNHhCAU2ugvUw" data-name="ODESZA">ODESZA</a> and shows at festivals like Montreux Jazz, Zürich Openair and Openair Frauenfeld.
His debut album <a href="spotify:album:5nV4Hzh3BK01gMq1M1gibu" data-name="Audio Dope">Audio Dope</a> was released in February 2018 on Majestic Casual and Radicalis Music, followed in December 2018 by his EP '<a href="spotify:album:5RsGs9ddei05FayT9EDrXu" data-name="Preserved">Preserved</a>'. In April 2020 the second album Superlunary was released.
In 2019 Audio Dope & <a href="spotify:artist:28zL2v3cJ1dM0CW8XSF1dg" data-name="Matthias Gusset">Matthias Gusset</a> launched their new project <a href="spotify:artist:3dExis8rqyN3OsHSKuHU53" data-name="Kappa Mountain">Kappa Mountain</a>. The debut EP was released on May 8th.
