Shevin better known as BabeOnDaBeat, has gone from bedroom producer to becoming a hyped electronic artist on Colombo’s ‘must-watch out for’ list an unprecedented amount of time. Having established himself as a household name thanks to his widely popular club mixes, and radio shows Shevin used the March 2020 lockdown in Sri Lanka to grow his talent.
His first original track ‘Lick it, Like it’, released mid 2020, helped drop some hints into the talented ocean of musicians found on the South Asian island, letting them know that he was serious and ready to work with local artists to create a new sound. This only proved well when ‘Botanik Love’ hit the airwaves remaining number 1 on the local countdown charts while also gaining an amassed number of plays on Spotify.
With a hotly number of new songs and projects anticipated before the end of 2021, plus his live spinning sessions across Colombo’s popular watering holes, this is only the beginning for this 25 year old Sri Lankan prodigy.
