Split born and Zagreb based singer-songwriter Dunja Ercegović still frequently plays favorite parts of her old stuff accompanied by the band Lovely Quinces but these days her more popular persona has become her alter ego, Bad Daughter.
As her early bedroom demo tapes remained mostly unnoticed, the other side of Dunja’s work has been introduced to the wider audience through the excellent Bad Daughter 2021 debut album ‘Let Me Panic’. This powerful 8-track fusion of dark electro-pop and 90’s influenced alt-rock, carefully crafted by the producer Leonard Klaić from the experimental electronic project Delapse has been praised as the album of the year by many Croatian critics, and Bad Daughter consequently won renowned music awards Porin, Rock Off and RUNDA.
A few months later Bad Daughter’s 3-piece live band with Dunja (vocals), Leonard (guitar, bass, electronics) and Nikola Babić (drums) performed for a surprisingly large and incredibly enthusiastic crowd at Zagreb’s top alternative music venue Jedinstvo. The live recording of their remarkable first gig was recently released on the album ‘Let Me Panic (Live)’, which also includes a preview of the brand new single ‘Bite Your Tongue’.
