The lush, colorful music created by London-based duo Bamboo is influenced by Japanese and Korean folk tales as well as art-pop visionaries such as <a href="spotify:artist:1aSxMhuvixZ8h9dK9jIDwL" data-name="Kate Bush">Kate Bush</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2JIf5JxI3ypOSfrfNIIMQE" data-name="YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA">YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA</a>. The project was founded in 2014 by vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Rachel Horwood (<a href="spotify:artist:0Dh9PyH7cmX294VQDuNtfo" data-name="Trash Kit">Trash Kit</a>, Bas Jan) and producer Nick Carlisle (<a href="spotify:artist:1CSkZb81E5OCBItaqByyjg" data-name="Peepholes">Peepholes</a>, Katy and Nick). Blending swirling electronic textures with banjos, marimbas, and Horwood's otherworldly vocals, <a href="spotify:artist:2lRmpEb6vBVPILehJVD1gk" data-name="BAMBOO">BAMBOO</a>'s debut album, <a href="spotify:album:0UHCMYyqxftW764Ej8woSw" data-name="Prince Pansori Priestess">Prince Pansori Priestess</a> was released by Upset! Following 2016 EP Live at Café OTO (which was included on the CD issue of Prince Pansori Priestess), Bamboo's more uptempo second full-length, <a href="spotify:album:1aGOTr8TfLiqzrKuZkxXqJ" data-name="The Dragon Flies Away">The Dragon Flies Away</a>, was released on cassette by Crumb Cabin.
