Banda Entopica

Banda Entopica is a traditional music street band based in Thessaloniki ,
fusing clarinet, saxophone , accordion and davul
in a synthesis of traditional and modern Balkan music.
The word “Entopica” is a reference to the dialect of the Slavic-speaking populations of Macedonia,
commonly called “Ntopica” (in greek, it means the local language).

Influenced by a wide array of sounds from Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus and the entire Balkan Peninsula,
their music is a dance-inducing, ecstatic frenzy of traditional songs and original compositions.
The band started out in the streets of Thessaloniki and pretty soon
they were playing packed local music venues and well-known Greek music festivals.

Its aesthetic is that of tradition as an integral and inextricable part of everyday life,
either through song or dance, which results in electrifying live performances,
enhanced by the dynamics of performer-audience interaction.
A Dionysian feast of traditional music: the ultimate outlet of bottled-up emotion,
for a crowd that desperately needs it.

In 2021 they released their first album entitled by the name of the band “Banda Entopica”
featuring traditionl pieces from the region of Macedonia & Thrace, as well as
an original composition in music and lyrics by Filippos Fasoulas.
