Jakarta based Saxophonist, Multi-instrumentalist and Composer, Bass G has been recognised as one of the prominent musicians and instrumentalists of his generation in Indonesia. Branching beyond his specialisation in jazz, his music is greatly influenced by many genres - while still paying homage to the jazz tradition. He aims to bring his visceral vision of music to the broader audiences globally.
From his early years until his return to Indonesia, Bass G has always been a regular in the country’s major jazz festivals. Performing in events such as Java Jazz International Festival and Jazz Goes to Campus, Bass G is no stranger to performances with the nation’s jazz heavyweights and acts. Since 2005, he has been regularly performing both in Indonesia and internationally.
During his tenure with the saxophone duo G&B, he has released four albums: Exotic Saxes (2004), Sax Chemistry (2006), Happy Christmas (2008), and Sax Anatomy (2012).
In 2017 Bass G released his debut solo album, Baciare, where he demonstrates his wide array of music and multi- instrumentality. Baciare features 11 of his original compositions.
On October 18th, 2019, Bass G released his latest work in the form of a single called Free.
