Spotify is a $50B company that pays artists on average less than $0.004 per stream. It has decimated the means of making a living for many musicians while cementing itself an essential and inescapable part of the modern music industry, and making billionaires of its executives. I've made less than $100 from all of my Spotify streams combined, in all the years my music has been on here, and yet it is such a ubiquitous part of being an artist these days that I feel unable to avoid having my music here.
