After Big Twisty & The Funknasty's descent to earth from space, they took no time in creating the most powerful, jaw dropping, funk/Hip Hop show on the planet. Selling out multiple shows in late 2019, Big Twisty & The Funknasty quickly established their name in the Wollongong Hiphop scene and welcomed two new funk soldiers; Big Bird and DJ Slender (Matt and Jack from The Inspired Unemployed'. Following the release of their hit single 'King Is Back', Big Twisty & The Funknasty SOLD OUT 2 consecutive headline shows at Wollongong Uni Bar, supported the likes of Boomchild, The Vanns and Kesmar, and were named on the bill for 'Yours & Owls' fest 2021.
Big Twisty & The Funknasty have been extremely busy writing and recording new music at The Grove Studios with producer Jack Nigro (Totty, DMA’s,). Their latest single ‘Pickup Truck’ is an explosive combination of old school funk, with flowing 90’s HipHop bars. With a chorus that cements its place firmly in your head from the get go and a bass line which will send your hips into motion, ‘Pickup Truck’ is a huge, fun-filled track for summer.
Big Twisty & The Funknasty currently have an east coast tour booked for early December to support the release of ‘Pickup Truck’. The ‘Pickup Truck’ tour will stop in at Oxford Arts factory, Beaches Hotel Thiroull, and The Northern in Byron Bay. Keep your eyes peeled for Big Twisty & The Funknasty on festival bills for 2021!
