Birdie

BIRDIE is a children's music project created by Teresa Gasca-Burk and Gary Burk. BIRDIE's first CD was released in 2003 and quickly became a favorite of families on the Central Coast of California. Follow up CDs, "My Family Tree" (2009) and "The Kitchen Pan Band" (2012) were also well received and positively reviewed. Birdie's latest release, "I Choose Happy", came out in 2021 and features the same blend of fun songs with positive lyrics.

BIRDIE also has received critical praise from noted children’s music critic Stefan Shepherd of Zooglobble and NPR Radio, selecting “Slip n’ Slide” in his August 2013 Spotify playlist. Critic John Wood of kidzmusic.com has positively reviewed each CD with quotes, "Fine musicianship is the hallmark of this 11-song set featuring love of family and downright fun," and "Nicely produced, upbeat tunes deliver messages of positive reinforcement, love and acceptance." Their music has also been selected as a "Resource for Youth & Family" by Unity's Sound Connection Newsletter. And most recently, BIRDIE was selected to co-write the theme song for “Tots Radio After School” on Live 365 station “Tots Radio” with DJ “Q”.
