Black Flamingos is an instrumental collective from the resilient rock ’n’ roll beach city of Asbury Park, New Jersey. The core trio features Robbie Butkowski on guitar, Declan O’Connell on bass and Hi-Tide Recordings’ co-founder Vincent Minervino on drums, and the group often performs with a rotation of sax, organ and percussion accompaniment. Recording & performing together since 2014, Black Flamingos has built a diverse catalog of sounds, covering spooky surf, exotica, garage & psych, with material from upcoming album “Flamboyance” pushing its sonic boundaries even further into atmospheric, cinematic funk territory.
