Formed in 1986, Black Tape for a Blue Girl's ethereal, mournful sound virtually defined the darkwave aesthetic of their label, Projekt Records, run by group founder, composer and keyboardist <a href="spotify:artist:0D76GidXzJyteIsEvApOXv" data-name="Sam Rosenthal">Sam Rosenthal</a>. In 2021 the band released their 13th studio album (The Cleft Serpent). Ethereal, evocative, powerful and melancholy, BlackTape reinvents their classic sound, expanding upon sweeping atmospherics and foreboding, engaging lyricism.
