Black Velvet is an Australian band that formed in Ballarat at the start of 2023 the group consists of Gabrielle Osborne (Vocals), Thomas Cutts (Guitar), Thomas Croft (Drums) and Madeline Rolls (Bass) In 2025 the group joined their schools VET Music program where they've had the opportunity to perform live and cover a range of songs.
The bands first single titled Faded Whispers was created as a part of the SongMakers program, where the group collaborated with another bassist (Jaxson Carter) to bring the song to life. Musically Faded whispers was heavily influenced by artists like Hole and Paramore and the lyrics were partly drawn from the singer's personal experience before dating her current partner.
