This duo brings together award-winning saxophonist Darius Blair and distinctive guitarist Niko Huber, longtime friends whose shared musical language has been shaped through years of playing, listening, and refining ideas. An unusual combination of instruments, their stripped-back setup feels both uncanny and captivating — leaving room for space, movement, and a warmth carried by subtle detail.
Having performed together in multiple line-ups for a good decade or so, as well as in their own projects – Huber fronts Bird’s View, an alt. rock band, while Blair’s part of the unconventional Discovery Collective, not to mention his Darius Blair Quartett – they first began playing as a duo at the start of the pandemic. The same year, Blair became the youngest recipient of the Frankfurt Jazz Scholarship before winning 1st Prize at Future Sounds two years later. Since then, they’ve bewitched audiences from clubs to castles, and having now signed to LEITER, they are set to follow their debut EP, IN A NEW ORDER, with their first full-length album, which is currently in the making.
