Blue Canopy is the moniker of Portland-based multi-instrumentalist, Alex Schiff. Schiff combines versatile songwriting chops and exuberant melodies to convey nostalgia as a force to move forward. Expertly weaving dream pop, psychedelic guitar passages and expansive electronic soundscapes, his output is beautifully introspective at a time where self-reflection is extremely crucial.

Formerly the keyboardist and co-writer for indie band, <a href="spotify:artist:5BTe2AqTGoMst2vHQrH4y1" data-name="Modern Rivals">Modern Rivals</a>, Alex has shared the stage with bands such as Ra Ra Riot, Stars and The Black Keys. He has released two EPs, “<a href="spotify:album:2JAbJWmDfksKODJ98XrUnq" data-name="Mild Anxiety">Mild Anxiety</a>” and “<a href="spotify:album:58FN6CT0ox8GBIuMYaRpEd" data-name="Sleep While You Can">Sleep While You Can</a>” featuring additional instrumentation and co-production from Patrick J. Smith (<a href="spotify:artist:5Kbx8AkkM7259YdQh4rTdX" data-name="A Beacon School">A Beacon School</a>).

His newest singles, the ethereal "<a href="spotify:album:1C2EkxzItRzhXF2IEm7I3E" data-name="Stranger At The Door">Stranger At The Door</a>" (featuring <a href="spotify:artist:3QxHPvnw4NfrfEaqWlBjqN" data-name="Misty Boyce">Misty Boyce</a>) and buoyant "<a href="spotify:album:7aWjgCcEMCM08BumCCVZh3" data-name="Bright Spot">Bright Spot</a>" were released in 2022, with much more to come in 2023.
