Formed in Aalborg, Denmark in 2018, Bogwife blends elements of doom, stoner rock and psychedelic to create their sound. The band takes its name from an old Scandinavian folktale about a mythical creature that lives in bogs and creates a thick mist that encapsulates the area around it.
Their debut, Halls of Rebirth, came out in July 2020, and was well received, placing 2nd in The Doom Charts for July. While 2020 only offered few chances to perform the record live, the band instead spent time writing new material and went to record their second full-length with Jacob Bredahl at Dead Rat Studio in the spring of 2021. A record that will be released on Majestic Mountain Records in September 2021.
In April 2021, the band was nominated for Best New Band at The Doomies Awards, presented by Doomed and Stoned and Revolver Magazine, alongside their new label Majestic Mountain Records and a range of great bands.
