London born, Ghanaian-Nigerian singer and producer boistory makes music that exists somewhere between the sensual and somber. Releasing his first song - Bruised - in 2019, boistory began building a name for himself in underground communities with his psychedelic, lo-fi production, honey-soft yet dexterous vocals and explicit, often darkly themed lyricism.
Blending R&B, highlife, afrobeats and electronica with a refreshingly slick sense of humor, boistory is one of the most potent voices emerging out of the African alternative scene.
For a tragically brief time, the Ghanaian-Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer, boistory connected with listeners through the appeal of both his curious, fusion-flecked style and heartfelt lyrics about his place in the world. Searching, sensual, even philosophical, his music came to split the difference between popular appeal and creative ambition—uniting both ends of the spectrum with an evocative Afro-R&B sound. His early output, like the self-produced “Udontwant” and “Bebe” featuring Odunsi (The Engine), brought his artistry into focus and marked him out as one of Africa’s most exciting emerging talents. In 2024, he suddenly passed away at the cusp of his breakthrough. His posthumous album 123…Arcade!, which was completed by producer Rvdical The Kid, stands as an act of tribute and preservation for an artist whose legacy continues to blossom.
